Occurred on 9/25/11, 11:53 p.m.  Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon   3300 W. Surfside Blvd.  1109260007

Officers investigating an auto burglary observed a vehicle leaving the adjacent parking area.  Officers pulled the vehicle over for a traffic violation and contacted the two occupants. 

During the traffic stop, Officers could smell the odor of burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle.  While talking with the occupants, the passenger picked up a sweater from the floorboard which provided a clear view of the handle of a handgun.   

Both subjects were detained and further investigation revealed a loaded handgun along with a scale and multiple baggies containing Marijuana. 

Juan Jose Emilio Angel Guerra (08/06/93) was arrested.  He was charged with Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon and Possession of Marijuana.  The 18-year-old female passenger was released at the scene.
