Officers responded to the Greyhound Bus Station and contacted employees who reported a Black male had stolen money from the cash register.  An employee told Officers he stepped away from the counter area when he heard the cash register close.  The male fled from the business.

While en route, an Officer observed the suspect running across I.H. 37 from the downtown area.   An attempt was made to contact the male, but he refused to stop for the Officer and fled toward the Solomon Coles Education Building.

The Officer chased the male until he was apprehended in the 900 block of Waco where he was found hiding underneath a residence.  Maury Eugene Robinson (04/14/83) was ordered out from underneath the home.

Robinson crawled out, but Officers observed him removing the stolen money from short pocket and leaving it behind.  Officers recovered the money and transported Robinson to the bus station where he was positively identified and arrested.

Robinson was charged with Theft and Evading Arrest Detention.  The money was returned to Greyhound Bus Station employees.
