Employee’s Quick Thinking Foils Robbery Attempt

Occurred on 11/19/11, 7:33 p.m.  Aggravated Robbery   3022 Leopard     1111190138 

Officer Z. Johnson responded to Robbery in progress at the Boat and Net located at 3022 Leopard.  The caller reported they heard loud knocking at the back door and when the employee looked out the peep-hole he saw one male with a black ski mask on and another in the process of putting it on.  The employee called police and kept the door secure. 

The Officer arrived within a minute of the call and observed the two unmasked males walking away from the business and ordered them stop.  One of the males fled as he discarded his mask and knife.  The second suspect Justin Gutierrez (08/12/94) was arrested. 

Gutierrez was charged Aggravated Robbery.  

The second suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 16 to 19 years of age, 5’5″ to 5’8″ feet tall, and weighing 140 to 160 lbs.  He was last seen wearing all black clothing.
