Two Arrested and Charged with Stealing $15,000 in Bronze and Steel Piping

Occurred on 01/02/12, 2:02 a.m. Theft 5202 Bear Lane 1201020019

Officers responded to a theft of pipes in progress with the suspects being followed by the West Oso Jr. High Security Guard. The caller advised the suspects were in a gray 2007 Nissan Titan pick-up truck.

Senior Officer C. Alejandro along with Officer A. Salinas were a short distance away and observed the suspect vehicle turn from Old Brownsville Road onto Enterprize Parkway.

Officers pulled the truck over and contacted the driver Luis Galvan (06/22/83) and his passenger Jose Luis Galvan (10/28/77) and detained them. Officers checked the truck and found it to be empty.

Shortly thereafter, the security guard arrived and told Officers the pipes had fallen out of the truck when the suspects pulled out of the West Oso Junior High parking lot.

Further investigation revealed, the cousins were responsible for the theft of $15,000 in bronze and steel piping from Ohmsted LTD located at 410 Flato Road.

The piping was positively identified by the Ohmsted LTD’s owner and returned to him.

Luis Galvan and Jose Luis Galvan were both arrested and charged with Theft.
