A CCPD Patrol Lieutenant and Officer were standing in a parking lot on the 5800 block of S. Officers searched the pickup and discovered a loaded .40 caliber handgun behind the front seat.  The barrel of the weapon was still warm and officers discovered a spent .40 caliber shell casing in the bed of the pickup.  Packard who appeared intoxicated, was administered Standard Field Sobriety Tests and a Blood Draw was later performed at a local hospital.  Packard was arrested and charged with Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon, Discharging a Firearm in Certain Municipalities, and Driving While Intoxicated.

A  passenger in the truck,  Aaron Wayne Sanchez (07/17/82) was also arrested and charged with Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon.
