A white female with tattoos passed counterfeit money at several area stores Monday afternoon. A clerk at a Stripes store called police when the woman attempted to use fake five dollar bills to pay for merchandise. The woman left the store as the clerk called police at about 12:05pm. The clerk recorded the license plate number of a gold 2001 Toyota Camry used by the woman who passed the fake money. The clerk told police no merchandise was taken and provided police with the fake money.
Police were then called to a Speedy Stop store in reference to more fake five dollar bills. A 30-year-old woman told police while she pumped gas in her car she was approached by a woman at the gas pump and requested to exchange a 20 dollar bill for four 5 dollar bills.
