An Officer attempted to pull over a white 1994 Ford Explorer for speeding in the 4900 block of Holly when the driver refused to stop and a pursuit ensued.  During the pursuit, the driver struck a silver Ford Fusion and a silver Pontiac Grand Prix in the Moore Plaza parking lot.  Both vehicles were parked and unoccupied. 

The driver continued on until he abandoned his vehicle at Compass Bank, 5301 S. Padre Island Drive and fled westbound towards Everhart Road. 

Officers found Joshua Brandon Curiel (11/27/86) hiding behind a dumpster at the old Wal-Mart.  Curiel not having anywhere else to run tried to fight his way through the Officers to make his getaway.  He was quickly handcuffed and arrested.

Curiel was charged with Evading Arrest in a Vehicle, Evading Arrest on Foot, and Resisting Arrest.  He was additionally charged with Possession of Marijuana when a baggy of the drug was found in the console during the impound inventory.
