Occurred on 3/14/12, 8:45 a.m.  Major Traffic Accident   7500 HWY 44   C1201943

A gold 2004 Ford Taurus traveling eastbound on HWY 44 was struck from behind by a white 1997 TXDOT Volvo truck.  The Taurus spun out of control, drove across the grass medium, struck a lamp pole and came to a stop in the westbound lane of HWY 44. 

The 53-year-old male in the Taurus received minor injuries and taken to Bay Area by CCFD Emergency Personnel. 

Rene Longoria, 46, also sustained minor injuries, but refused to be taken to the hospital.  He was cited for Failure to Control Speed/Unsafe/Inappropriate Speed.
