Corpus Christi Police responded to several complaints of burglaries to motor vehicle at the La Palmera Mall. A witness provided the license plate number and a description of a green Ford Mustang that was used by the thieves to leave the mall.
Patrol Officer Mike Garcia located the Mustang when the vehicle pulled into the Four Winds Apartments and the operator fled on foot. Senior Officer Garcia caught the operator, 21-year-old Juan Gonzalez (9/19/1991).
The patrol dog was used to locate the juvenile that ran from the Mustang. The juvenile was taken to the Nueces County Juvenile Justice Center and Gonzalez was taken to the City Detention Center.
The Mustang was reported stolen from Corpus Christi and was taken to the city impound to be processed by the forensics lab technicians for evidence.
