Four Hospitalized in Highway Pursuit

Officers pulled over a tan Ford Taurus with four occupants for a traffic infraction at Leopard and Up River Road. During the traffic stop, the 27 –year-old female driver drove off and a pursuit ensued. The pursuit ended at IH 37 and County Road 1726 when the driver lost control of the vehicle.

The vehicle rolled over a couple of times and came to rest on the access road west of IH 37 facing northbound in the southbound lane. A 29-year-old male and a 22-year-old female attempted to flee on foot, but were quickly apprehended by the Patrol K-9 Unit and Officers at the collision scene.

A 34-year-old male was taken to Spohn Memorial via HALO-Flight with serious injuries, while the other three were taken by ambulance.
