Customer Found A Cop When One Was Needed

A 20-year-old man was arrested Saturday night for unlawfully carrying a pistol at a local restaurant.

A Corpus Christi Police Officer at a downtown fast food restaurant was told by a customer that she saw a man with a pistol who wore a black t-shirt and a cap. The officer confronted the man and discovered a loaded 9mm pistol in the man’s waistband. The man with the pistol did not have a concealed handgun license issued to him. The officer checked the serial number on the pistol and discovered the pistol was stolen from a Corpus Christi home in June 2011.

20-year-old Jon Pruneda (2/20/1992) was arrested for Unlawful Carrying of Weapons and for Theft of a Firearm then delivered to the city detention center. The Unlawful Carrying of Weapons charge is a Class A misdemeanor punishable by up to 1 year in jail and up to a $4,000 fine. The Theft of a Firearm charge is a State Jail Felony punishable by up to 2 years in prison and up to a $10,000 fine.
