Truck Flips Upside Down in Collision, Three Injured

Occurred on 5/31/12, 10:14 pm  Driving While Intoxicated  7200 SPID  C1204179/1206010001                                                                                                                    

A blue Chevrolet pick-up truck traveling eastbound in the 7200 block of S. Padre Island Drive ran the red light at Rodd Field Road and rear ended a white Saturn Outlook.  The truck bounced off the car and flipped upside down. 

The 54-year-old driver of the Saturn had minor injuries and treated by CCFD Emergency Personnel. The 22-year-old driver sustained a laceration to the head and taken to Spohn Memorial along with his 26-year-old passenger who was slightly injured.  

CCFD Medics turned over a plastic bag containing Marijuana which fell out of the 22-year-old driver’s pocket.  A glass pipe was also found in a pant pocket.  Due to his injuries, the driver of the truck was not arrested, but could face charges of Driving While Intoxicated and Possession of Marijuana.
