A 55-year-old man was arrested Saturday morning after he broke in to the Corpus Christi Police Department and demanded to be arrested.
Corpus Christi Police Officers responded to the Main Police Station at 9:45 am when 55-year-old Bruce Landon (3/18/1957) broke the front glass doors to the building. The Main Police Station was closed for the weekend and the front doors were locked. Landon used a metal utility cover to break the glass door.
Corpus Christi Police Officers found Landon inside the building seated in the front hall. Landon had a few small cuts on his left hand and forearm. Landon told the officer he broke the door because he wanted to go to jail. An ambulance provided treatment to Landon for the cuts on the arm and then Landon was delivered to the city detention center.
Landon was charged for theft for taking the utility cover without permission of the owner which is punishable by up to 6 months in jail and up to a $2,000 fine. Landon was charged for Criminal Mischief for the estimated $1,650 damage to the front door which is punishable by up to 2 years in jail and up to a $10,000 fine. Landon was charged with Criminal Trespass which is punishable by up to 6 months in jail and up to a $2,000 fine.
