Occurred on 6/30/12, 8:25 pm  Major Accident  2300 Horne Road  C1205014/1206300173 

Officers responded to an accident involving a blue Suzuki Colt motorcycle and a Chevrolet Lumina at the intersection of Port and Horne Roads.  Officers report the Lumina made turn an improper turn onto Port causing the motorcycle to collide with Lumina. 

The 34-year-old motorcyclist was taken to Spohn Memorial where he later died of injuries sustained in the accident.  Neither the 38-year-old driver of the Lumina, nor his 8-year-old passenger was injured in the accident.               

The driver of the Lumina was cited for an Expired Driver’s License and Disregarding a Traffic Control Device.   The fatality will continue to be investigated by the Police Department’s Traffic Division.
