A 32-year-old man destroyed a pitbull that attacked his 12-year-old step son Tuesday on Sacky Drive.
The 32-year-old man told police his cousin’s pitbull named Biggy attacked the 12-year-old boy without provocation in front of the 12-year-old boy’s parents. The 32-year-old man, the mother of the 12-year-old, and the 12-year-old just arrived at the home. The 12-year-old got out of the vehicle and the dog directly attacked.
The dog then chased a niece to the 32-year-old man, but was unable to catch the girl. The 32-year-old man said the dog was out of control and so the 32-year-old man used a baseball bat to kill the pitbull and prevent any other people from injury.
The only person injured was the 12-year-old boy who was taken by ambulance to Spohn Memorial Hospital with non life-threatening injuries. Animal Control Officers collected the dog. There are no criminal charges filed at this time.
