Pedestrian Injured Leaving Fireworks, Woman Charged with Intoxication Assault

Officers responded to an accident at the intersection of Water and Twigg Streets just as the fireworks ended.  The 29-year-old pedestrian was standing on the curb waiting to cross the street at the cross walk when a blue Ford Mustang jumped the curb and struck her.  The victim was taken to the Spohn Memorial with broken bones to her foot, ankle, and knee. 

The driver Lacey Bauer (11/28/83) appeared to be intoxicated and taken to the City Detention Center where a Blood Warrant was obtained and a Blood Specimen taken from Bauer. 

Bauer was charged with Intoxicated Assault with Vehicle ~ Severe Body Injury, a 3rd Degree Felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.  She was additional charged with Possession of Alcoholic Beverage in a Motor Vehicle when a mixed drink was found in the center console of the Mustang.  The charge is a Class “C” Misdemeanor.
