
Corpus Christi Police Chief F. Simpson and Fire Chief Rocha were the first ones to donate blood in the Coastal Bend Blood Center’s Annual Guns N” Hoses Blood Drive Challenge. This annual competition has pitted firefighters and police officers against one another in a friendly challenge to bring in the most blood donations during the month of July.
Did you know that a you can save up to three lives with a blood donation? The Coastal Bend Blood Center reports there is a shortage of all types of blood, especially during the summer and winter months. ALL blood types are needed and we ask that you join us in donating blood.
The blood center has opened up the Gun’s N’ Hoses Competition to the entire Coastal Bend. If you have a friend or a relative working for police and fire in the Coastal Bend, we would like to you to join us in the competition. Please donate blood at any Coastal Bend Blood Center event and dedicate your donation to either “Guns” or Hoses.” At the end of the month the CBBC will announce the winner when all blood donations are tallied.
The Corpus Christi Hooks have donated Hooks baseball tickets to all blood donors during July will receive two tickets to an upcoming Hooks baseball game at Whataburger Field. Donors will also receive a free t-shirt and a Sonic voucher. Please join us and honor your hero!
