Occurred on 9/22/12, 2:50 a.m.  Fatal Accident  10600 IH 37  C1207224

Police were called to the 10600 block of IH 37 early this morning for an accident involving a tractor-trailer and red Ford Expedition.  Upon their arrival, Officers discovered the 28-year-old driver of the Expedition was deceased at the accident scene.

Further investigation revealed the Expedition was traveling at a high rate of speed and rear ended the 18-wheeler.  The 50-year-old driver of the blue Freightliner was uninjured.

Traffic Investigators were called to assist in the accident investigation and IH 37 was closed off for approximately three hours.  Traffic was diverted at the McKinzie Road exit.
