Police report a motorcyclist traveling southbound on Airline was seriously injured when a Chevrolet pick-up truck pulled onto Airline from Bradshaw Street. The two vehicles collided, causing the 27-year-old motorcyclist to go airborne. The helmeted motorcyclist suffered head trauma and rushed to Spohn Memorial.
Due to the motorcyclist’s life threatening injuries, Traffic Safety Division Investigators were called out to the accident scene. The 51-year-old driver of the truck was cited for Failure to Yield Right of Way at a Stop Sign. It is believed speed was also a factor in the accident as the motorcyclist speedometer was locked at over 60 m.p.h. The speed limit for this particular area of Airline Road is 35 m.p.h.
