Occurred on 10/18/12, 02:13am  Driving While Intoxicated    600 Van Cleve Drive  1210180013/CR1207922

Officers were dispatched to Leopard and Westchester for a traffic accident in which a vehicle had struck a light pole.  Upon their arrival, Officers found the driver of a red Dodge Durango had struck a fence and mailbox along with a utility pole in the 600 block of Van Cleve Drive.  Officers contacted a female passenger, but the driver was nowhere to be found.

Further investigation revealed the driver Jose Rene Gomez (03/13/82) had fled, but returned while Officers were conducting their investigation as he did not want his sister arrested.

Gomez appeared to be intoxicated and a blood warrant obtained.  A blood specimen was taken and Gomez was arrested.  He was charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Reckless Damage or Destruction.
