A 19-year-old man and a 15-year-old girl were taken to the hospital by ambulance as the result of a single vehicle crash on Yorktown Boulevard Wednesday afternoon.
The 19-year-old drove a red 2003 Nissan X-terra 4 door on Yorktown near Airline Road toward Flour Bluff. The passenger side of the vehicle partially left the road and the 19-year-old over corrected back onto the road. The vehicle then left the road and the driver overcorrected again causing the car to roll over and land on its top.
The 19-year-old driver received a traffic citation for making an unsafe change from a direct course. The 19-year-old was taken to the hospital by ambulance and his 15-year-old girl passenger was taken to Driscoll Children’s Hospital by ambulance. Both occupants of the vehicle had injuries that are not believed to be life threatening.
No other person or vehicle was involved in the crash. The X-terra was towed due to damage.
