Adam District Officer J. Loftin pulled over a grey Pontiac Grand Prix for a traffic violation.  He contacted the driver 27-year-old female driver and her passengers.

During his investigation it was discovered the driver and passenger were being paid to take a 28-year-old woman and her children to Houston, TX.  The woman and her children were found to have entered the country illegally.

United States Customs and Border Protection Agents were called to assist and took over the investigation.  The three women and children were released into their custody.

Twenty-four hours later, Officer J. Loftin once more encountered another smuggling case which was a bit more dangerous than the previous day’s investigation.  The Officer observed a Oldsmobile Silhouette driving erratically and attempted to pull them over in a safe location.

The tan passenger van slowly pulled over and stopped when two Hispanic men jumped out and began running into the brush.  The driver opened his door to flee, but Officer Loftin ordered him to remain in the van.  The driver closed the driver’s side door and placed the van in reverse before bailing out of the vehicle. The van struck the Officer’s police car, but he was uninjured.

CCPD Officers with the assistance of United States Customs and Border Protection Agents searched for the men, but were unable to locate them.
