Occurred Wednesday, December 26, 2012, 2:18am, 5200 Snowgoose Road, Driving While Intoxicated, 1212260009

Corpus Christi Police believe alcohol was a contributing factor to a crash in which a Camaro struck a brick fence and then damaged two other vehicles on the 5200 block of Snowgoose Road Wednesday morning.

A 23-year-old man drove a black 2012 Chevrolet Camaro at a high rate of speed on the 5200 block of Snowgoose Road at about 2:00am on Wednesday morning. The Camaro failed to negotiate a turn in the road and then struck a brick fence, and then struck a parked blue 1998 Mercury sedan in the driveway of a residence.

Bricks from the fence were thrown and damaged a silver 2005 Chevrolet Silverado pickup parked in the driveway of a second residence. There was also damage done to a house and the property owner estimated the damage at $32,000.

The 23-year-old man who drove the Camaro ran from the crash scene, but was later apprehended by Corpus Christi Police. The 23-year-old man was taken to the hospital and released for medical treatment. Corpus Christi Police crash investigators believe alcohol was a contributing factor to the crash and continue to investigate.
