Corpus Christi Police Detectives met with a 24-year-old man who reported to Police he was shot in his home when he interrupted a burglary.  During their interview with Detectives they learned that the homeowner had been untruthful in previous statements to Officers.

Detectives report the gunshot the man sustained was self-inflicted.  Detectives are no longer investigating the Burglary of a Habitation and Aggravated Assault, but Detectives will meet with Nueces County District Attorney’s Office to discuss the possibility filing charges on the homeowner for filing a False Report to a Police Officer which is a Class “B” Misdemeanor punishable by up to 180 days and a $2,000 fine.
