A 22-year-old man was arrested Friday morning after he ran from a four vehicle crash which injured his 21-year-old pregnant wife at the intersection of Peoples Street and Water Street.

The 21-year-old pregnant woman and a 45-year-old woman were taken by ambulance to the hospital as a result of the crash.

Isaac Munoz (11/23/1990) drove a red 2006 Jeep Liberty on Peoples Street and red the red light at the intersection with Water Street. The Jeep struck a silver 2012 Nissan Murano which was pushed into two other vehicles.

Munoz was not injured in the crash but the three passengers in the Jeep with Munoz and a passenger in the Murano were injured. The 21-year-old pregnant woman was a passenger in the Jeep and was taken to the hospital by ambulance with unknown extent of injuries. The 45-year-old woman passenger of the Murano was taken to the hospital by ambulance with what are believed to be non life-threatening injuries. The other injuries were considered minor. The Jeep and the Nissan were towed because of the extent of the damage.

Munoz ran from the crash scene but was held by witnesses a block away from the scene until police arrived. Corpus Christi Police Crash Investigators believe Munoz was not intoxicated. Munoz was arrested for failing to remain at the scene of an accident involving injury and received a citation for disregarding the red light. Munoz was then delivered to the city detention center.
