A 14-year-old and a 17-year-old were struck by a Chevrolet Impala as they crossed the intersection at Staples and Laredo Streets.

Further investigation revealed the driver of the Impala was traveling northbound on S. Staples when she turned onto Laredo and struck the two females walking through the cross walk.  Both victims were taken to Spohn Memorial with minor injuries.

The 14-year-old was found to be a runaway out of San Antonio and booked at the Nueces County Juvenile Justice Center once she was medically cleared.

The 73-year-old driver was cited for Failure to Yield the Right of Way~Pedestrian in Crosswalk.
