                Corpus Christi Police arrested a 42-year-old man for a murder warrant on a traffic stop at the intersection of Holly and Carroll Lane Thursday afternoon.

Corpus Christi Police Officers searched for a red Ford F350 Thursday as a suspect vehicle to a crime reported Thursday morning. A Corpus Christi Police Officer conducted a traffic stop on a red 1999 Ford F350 on Carroll Lane at Holly Road. The 42-year-old driver, Brian Edwards (5/25/1970) ran from the traffic stop. The officer caught Edwards a short distance away and brought him back to the patrol car. The officer conducted a warrants check on Edwards and discovered there was an arrest warrant for Edwards for the charge of murder in Corpus Christi. The murder warrant was in relation to the shooting death on February 11, 2013 on Morgan Avenue.

Edwards was arrested for Possession of Prohibited Weapons (a Class A Misdemeanor), Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon (A 3^rd Degree Felony), Possession of a Controlled Substance (a State Jail Felony), Evading Arrest (a Class A Misdemeanor), and for the murder warrant.

A woman passenger was briefly detained and released. The truck was impounded and Corpus Christi Police Detectives continue to investigate.
