A 46-year-old man was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated Tuesday morning after he hit two parked cars on the 2400 block of South Padre Island Drive.
Forty six-year-old Henry Garza (7/8/1966) drove a blue 1997 Chevy Prism west on the 2400 block of South Padre Island Drive at 1:58am Tuesday morning. He then veered to the right and struck two legally parked vehicles, a gold 2000 Mercury Sable and a black 2005 Chevy Silverado pickup.
Garza then walked from the crash scene without having made any effort to notify the owners of the damaged vehicles.
Corpus Christi Police found Garza behind a nearby business. Garza was arrested for failing to comply with the duty on striking an unattended vehicle and for Driving While Intoxicated and for operating a vehicle with a suspended license. Garza’s vehicle was impounded. The Mercury Sable was able to be driven away, but the Chevy Silverado was towed due to the extent of damage.
Garza was taken to a hospital for a medical evaluation and for police to collect a specimen of Garza’s blood. Garza was then delivered to the city detention center.
