Corpus Christi Police arrested a 26-year-old man for unlawfully carrying a weapon and for possession of a controlled substance Thursday night at Clarkwood and Leopard Street. A Corpus Christi Police Officer conducted a traffic stop at 9:00pm Thursday night when a black 2013 Chevrolet Camaro went past a stop sign without stopping. The operator of the Camaro, 26-year-old Giovanni Vega (4/22/1987) had a suspended license. The Officer discovered a handgun and a white substance which the Officer believed to be cocaine inside the Camaro. Vega was arrested and delivered to the city detention center.

Event: Vehicle Crash with a Pedalcyclist
Crash Number: C1307346
A vehicle struck a 23-year-old woman on a bicycle at the intersection of Staples and Wooldridge Thursday night. The 23-year-old woman was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries after the crash. The 23-year-old woman on the bicycle travelled east on Wooldridge through the intersection at Staples at 6:43pm. A green 2001 Dodge Neon operated by a 29-year-old woman travelled west on Wooldridge and turned left onto Staples and struck the 23-year-old woman on the bicycle. The 29-year-old woman claimed to have a protected green arrow. No citations have been issued.

Offense: Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle (Penal Code Section 31.07)

A Corpus Christi Police Officer noticed a motorcycle parked in an architectural improvement design (loading zone for handicapped vehicles) at 4113 Staples Street on Thursday at 10:00am. The Officer checked the license plate and discovered the motorcycle was reported stolen from an apartment complex on Weber Road last June. A man came out of the store and approached the motorcycle. The Officer conducted an investigation and then arrested 44-year-old Dale Tackette (3/17/1969) for unauthorized use of a vehicle. The motorcycle was taken to the city impound lot and Tackette was delivered to the city detention center.

A Corpus Christi Police Officer noticed a blue 2009 Nissan Versa parked on the 2700 block of Marguerite which had been reported stolen on October 1st from the 4300 block of Orchid. The Officer called other Patrol Officers for assistance and then saw 53-year-old Martha Ann Dodsworth (10/11/1959) walk out of a house and get into the car. Officer then arrested Dodsworth. The car was taken to the city impound and Dodsworth was delivered to the city detention center.
