“Bravo” District

Date: Thursday, March 20, 2014, 10:31am

Location: 2601 Waldron Road

Offense: Terroristic Threat (Penal Code Section 22.07) State Jail Felony

Case Number: 1403200046

Corpus Christi Police apprehended a 16-year-old boy for making a bomb threat at a high school located at 2601 Waldron Road. A school faculty member found the threat in a bathroom written on the wall and notified the Corpus Christi Police Officer on the campus. The school staff and the Officer investigated the threat and found the 16-year-old boy who wrote the threat. The Officer took the 16-year-old boy into custody for Terroristic Threats (a charge punishable by up to two years incarceration and up to a $10,000 fine) and delivered him to the Nueces County Juvenile Detention Center.

Offense: Warrant of Arrest (Code of Criminal Procedure 15.01)

Corpus Christi Police arrested 28-year-old Tyler Johns (8/5/1985) for a warrant for his arrest Thursday afternoon after Officers investigated Johns as a suspicious person at a parking lot located at 10241 South Padre Island Drive. A Corpus Christi Police Officer noticed three men selling home audio systems out of the back of a black 2013 Ford F-150 pickup truck in the parking lot. The Officer investigated and learned the packaged systems were sold by the three men at over $2,000 dollars less than the manufacturer’s suggested retail price. Officers learned the men are not residents of Corpus Christi and do not have a city solicitation permit. Officers gathered information and discovered one of the men, Johns, had an active warrant for his arrest out of Austin for a parole violation. Officers released the other two men and delivered Johns to the city detention center.

Offense: Aggravated Assault (Penal Code Section 22.02) 2nd Degree Felony

Corpus Christi Police initiated an investigation for an aggravated assault on the 600 block of Texan Trail Thursday night. Corpus Christi Police responded to a call of a man who suffered obvious injuries and laid in the driveway to an apartment. Witnesses told Officers they heard an argument outside and then saw a 35-year-old man with injuries to his torso and legs. It is not known what caused the injuries and witnesses told Officers the man may have been struck by a vehicle. The 35-year-old man was taken to the hospital by ambulance and was listed by the hospital staff as in critical condition. Detectives were called to assist to gather information and evidence and continue to investigate this event.

Offense: Discharge a Firearm Inside the City Limits

Case Number: 1403210026

A 22-year-old man reported a person who discharged a firearm inside the city limits at an apartment complex located at 3002 Antelope Street to Corpus Christi Police Friday morning. The 22-year-old man told Officers an unknown man and an unknown woman got out of a white 1997 Mercedes at about 2:45am and the man discharged a pistol into the air several times, and then entered an apartment. Officers were unable to locate the man or woman and collected evidence from the scene. No injuries or property damage was reported.
