Officers were called out to the area of Elizabeth St. and Brownlee Blvd. to check the welfare of a female that was acting unusual. They located the female, Johna Rink (03/30/1988), who was crying and upset. After a few minutes, officers calmed her down and she told them that she was looking for her boyfriend. Officers found the infant alone, sweating, wearing only a diaper, and left on a king size bed. Upon further investigation, it was found that the father had been gone most of the night, only returning when officers were doing their investigation. It was determined that the child had been left alone by the mother since early morning. The apartment was in disarray, with no food, and dirty and there was evidence of drug use in the apartment.
