Corpus Christi Police Officers on patrol heard a female screaming from the north end of an apartment complex located in the 5700 block of Timbergate Dr. Officers found a 32 year old female victim who told them she had been assaulted by her boyfriend Kellen Sirrine (06/20/1985).  She said she had broken up with him earlier in the day and had left their apartment to go to a friend’s house. When she returned, she was unable to get into her apartment due to the dead bolt being locked. After trying to get in for almost an hour the male finally let her in, but once inside the male grabbed her by the neck and threw her down. When the victim went to the living room and attempted to call the police the male took her phone and disconnected the call and he threw the phone outside of the apartment. She went outside to get her phone and she was assaulted again. The victim was able to get her phone and as she attempted to run back inside the male picked her up and threw her against the wall next to the front door. The male was arrested for assault, a class A misdemeanor, and he was additionally charged with interfering with an emergency call, also a class A misdemeanor. The victim suffered several bruises, scratches, and a cut on her foot from the attack.  She refused any medical assistance.

A 51 year old female victim reported to Corpus Christi Police that she was driving east on State Highway 358 toward Flour Bluff in the fast lane when she noticed that a maroon full size van was right behind her. She said that she then moved over to the middle lane and the van also moved over to the middle lane, tailgating her. The female exited the freeway and then stopped at the red light at Flour Bluff Drive and South Padre Island Drive. The female said that the van stopped behind her and a white male exited the driver`s seat and ran toward her vehicle and started hitting her window while yelling and cursing at her and he even tried to open her door. The male struck the windshield of her vehicle, breaking it. The female then drove in front of the vehicle next to her, made a right turn and drove south on Flour Bluff Dr. The male returned to his van, and again began to follow the female and she turned onto June St. in an attempt to lose the van, however it followed her. She stated that at the intersection of June St. and Waldron Rd, the maroon van stopped and the suspect again exited the van and started coming toward her vehicle. The victim drove straight through the intersection and when she turned north onto Waldron Road, she saw the van turn south. The female described the suspect’s vehicle as being a full size maroon van, and the male was described as being in his thirties about 5’11” tall and 180 pounds with brown hair.  The damaged to the windshield was estimated to be $1000. Officers continue to investigate this case, and at this time, no arrests have been made.

A Corpus Christi Police Officer was treated at Christus Spohn Shoreline after he suffered a cut to his hand when a male resisted arrest. Officers observed a male pinning a female up against the wall outside of a bar in the 5700 block of S. Staples St. and stopped to investigate. Officers heard the two arguing as they approached and they told the male several times to release the female.  The male refused and continued to hold her up against the wall still arguing with her.  An officer then had to step between the two in an attempt to separate them. During the investigation, officers determined that the male was intoxicated in public and attempted to arrest him. The male physically resisted by pulling his arms away and putting them in front of his chest.  The female then got involved and she wrapped her arms around the male in an attempt to prevent him from getting arrested. She was told several times to release the male however she refused. After two other officers arrived to assist, the male suspect was able to be handcuffed.  During the struggle to get the male arrested, an officer was punctured with the teeth of the handcuffs on his right hand causing an open wound and bleeding. The female was told by officers several times to back away from the arrest but she continued to interfere and she was also arrested.  Officers charged Jesus Villanueva (07/12/1988) with public intoxication, a Class C misdemeanor and resisting arrest, a Class A misdemeanor.  The female, Dalinda Medrano (11/28/1983), was charged with public intoxication, a Class C misdemeanor, interfering with police duties, a Class B misdemeanor and she was also found to have two outstanding warrants for her arrest. The injured officer returned to duty after being treated.

 

“Delta” District

Offense:  Traffic Crash

An 18 wheel tractor with a trailer was attempting to turn when it struck a traffic signal pole at the intersection of Antelope Street and North Carancahua Street.  There were no power outages due to the crash, but Corpus Christi Police Traffic Investigators did have the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit respond to do an inspection on the truck after the 44 year old male driver claimed that the brakes locked up.   He said that he was attempting to turn the 2003 Freightliner tractor with an empty trailer from the 800 block of N. Carancahua St. onto the 100 block of Antelope St. when it struck the traffic signal pole knocking it down with the right rear side of the trailer.  Officers found that the driver did not have liability insurance on the truck.  The truck and tractor were both impounded and the driver faces traffic violations as a result of the crash and for not having insurance.  The traffic signal pole was estimated to cost about $5,000.
