Patrol Report September 15, 2014

The Corpus Christi Police Department generated 195 reports for formal criminal complaints from midnight September 14 to 7:00 a.m. on September 15, 2014. These are samples of the criminal complaints filed by the Corpus Christi Police for that time period.

 

“Bravo” District

Location: 2000 Airline Road
Offense:  Interference with Emergency Call     (PC 42.062 Class A Misdemeanor)
Case Number: 1409140014
A 51 year old female victim told Corpus Christi Police Officers that she and an ex-boyfriend were involved in a disturbance at her apartment located at 2002 Airline Rd. Officers had responded to a call about an open line to 911 and call takers could hear a female yelling at a male to get out of the house. The female said that she was arguing with Raymond Najera (09/28/1961) and she was calling 911 when the male suspect took the phone from her. The suspect ran away from her apartment with the females’ phone. Other responding officers found him attempting to evade them on foot in the parking lot.  He was eventually caught and arrested.  He was charged with interfering with an emergency call and evading arrest, both Class A misdemeanors.  The females’ phone was returned to her.

Location: State Highway 358 East / Waldron Road
Offense:  Driving While Intoxicated           (PC 49.04 Third Degree Felony)

Corpus Christi Police responded to call about a truck traveling the wrong direction on the freeway. Officers observed the 2001 Chevrolet S10 in the far left lane of State Highway 358 over Kostoryz Rd. traveling west in the east lanes of the freeway. Officer’s attempted to stop the truck at the Kostoryz and Carroll exit however, it failed to stop and continued driving down the freeway going the wrong direction. Officers noted that there was very little traffic, and speeds were not exceeding 40 mph. The suspect finally stopped the truck near the West Point Rd. exit and Elva Mejia (01/02/1947) was found to be intoxicated.  The female was charged with driving while intoxicated and evading arrest with a vehicle, both third degree felonies

 

“Charlie” District

Location: 5200 Kostoryz Road
Offense:  Burglary of a Vehicle       (PC 30.04     Class A Misdemeanor)

Corpus Christi Police Officers were dispatched to an apartment complex in the 5200 block of Kostoryz Rd. in reference to a suspect breaking into vehicles parked in the parking lot. Officers arrived, and observed several individuals detaining Aaron Deleon (09/14/1993). Witnesses told officers that they were playing basketball by the main office of the apartment complex when they saw the suspect get inside of a black Chevy Avalanche and remove a laptop computer.  The suspect then continue walking around the parking lot attempting to get into other vehicles and was seen removing shoes from inside of a white Pontiac G6.   Once the suspect was arrested by officers, a black bag containing marijuana was found in his pants pocket.  The suspect was charged with two counts of burglary of a vehicle, a Class A misdemeanor and possession of marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor.

Offense:  Burglary of a Habitation             (PC 30.02     First Degree Felony)

Corpus Christi Police Officers responded to a report of a male knocking on doors at an apartment complex located at 1802 Ennis Joslin Rd. While they were investigating the call, they heard a female scream and then saw her running out of an apartment away from a male who was chasing her. Officers ordered the male to stop but he continued to evade officers on foot through the apartment complex. Other responding officers were able to catch up to Matricus Geter (12/09/1990). Officers then contacted a 24 year old female victim who told them that she was talking with the suspect, her ex-boyfriend one the phone, and trying to break off a relationship.  He then came over, and not knowing which apartment she lived in, he began knocking on several doors in the complex.  When he finally knocked on the victims door she open it, and he forced his way in. The suspect grabbed her by the neck, threw her down and punched her several times in the face.  During the assault, the officers knocked on the victims’ door, and the suspect did not allow her to answer.  He put his hand over her mouth and made threats to harm her if she made any noises.  After the officers quit knocking the suspect went to see if the officers had left, and that is when the victim was able to escape and run outside, and was seen by the officers.  The suspect was charged with burglary of a habitation, a first degree felony, and also unlawful restrain and evading arrest on foot, both Class A misdemeanors. The victim was transported to Bay Area Hospital by CCFD EMS to be treated for her injuries.
