Patrol Report September 16, 2014

The Corpus Christi Police Department generated 205 reports for formal criminal complaints from midnight September 15 to 7:00 a.m. on September 16, 2014. These are samples of the criminal complaints filed by the Corpus Christi Police for that time period.

 

“Adam” District

Location: 13200 Leopard Street
Offense:  Possession of a Controlled Substance     (HS 481.115    Second Degree Felony)
Case Number: 1409160002
The night manager of a business located at 13202 Leopard St. called Corpus Christi Police after he observed a 2004 Dodge Truck driving reckless through the parking lot and at one point he saw the truck drive over a sign. The truck then parked at the far end of the parking lot and officers found the driver, William Bradley Beck (10/12/1971) intoxicated or high on some type of drug. The suspect had an arrest warrant from San Patricio County and he was taken into custody. Inside the truck officers found methamphetamine and a pipe In addition to the arrest warrants, the suspect was charged with possession of a controlled substance, a second degree felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a Class C misdemeanor.  The truck was impounded.

A 31 year old male victim told Corpus Christi Police Officers that he was talking to a female that he knew, when a male suspect began to make eye contact with him while they were all in a bar located at 1402 Rodd Field Rd. The victim told the suspect that he and the female were just friends, and attempted to shake his hand.  When he did, the suspect would not let go of his hand, and pulled out a knife on the victim.  Several witness observed this, including employees of the bar, and everyone was told to leave.  While outside in the parking lot, the suspect approached the victim and this time pulled out a handgun.  The suspect fired two shots at the victim but missed.  The suspect who was described as a hispanic male wearing a red shirt got into a black Cadillac and left on the freeway going west.  The victim told officers he was able to pull up the females Facebook page and from there, he was able to find the name of the suspect who had shot at him.  He gave the officers the information, and at this time the investigation continues in this case, however, no arrests have been made.

Offense:  Aggravated Assault          (PC 22.02     Second Degree Felony)

Corpus Christi Police Officers responded to a shooting at Los Encinos Park located at 1601 La Joya St. Officers arrived and contacted a 19 year old male victim who had been shot once in the stomach. Witnesses said that the victim was in the park with another man when the suspect approached him.  They exchanged words and it appeared as though they were going to fight.  When the victim moved toward the suspect he pulled out a handgun and shot the victim. The suspect was last seen running across the park and then down Dorado St. wearing a red shirt, and long cargo type shorts. CCFD EMS transported the victim to Spohn Memorial Hospital and after having surgery, he is expected to recover. Officers located a shell casing in the middle of the park. Officers are still investigating this case, and no arrests have been made.
