A 48 year old male victim called Corpus Christi Police after he was hit in the face with a pipe or bat while walking in the 4100 block of Violet Rd. The victim told officers he was walking south on Violet Rd on the sidewalk toward his house. He said that as he passed a trailer park he noticed a young black male wearing shorts and a baseball cap walking up to him. The suspect told the victim “Don`t walk up on me” and then hit him in the head with an unknown solid weapon. The victim could not tell what he was hit with. The victim suffered a cut above the right eye and was transported to Northwest Regional Hospital by CCFD EMS. No suspect has been arrested in this case.

Offense: Driving While Intoxicated (PC 49.04 Class B Misdemeanor)

A 22 year old female drove her 2007 Chevrolet Impala into a ditch in the 7800 block of Yorktown Blvd. and could not get out. The female was attempting to turn around and pulled into a private drive, and when she tried to turn she dropped her car into a drainage ditch. She was not injured, but she was found to be intoxicated. Danielle Nicole Morsberger (04/03/1992) was arrested for driving while intoxicated, a Class B misdemeanor and her car was impounded.

Offense: Evading Arrest (PC 38.04 Third Degree Felony)

A Corpus Christi Police Officer on patrol observed a 2005 Mercury Sable sedan traveling south on Saratoga Blvd near Weber Rd. commit a traffic violation. The officer then activated his emergency lights in an attempt to get the vehicle to pull over. The vehicle continued east on Saratoga Blvd for two blocks and then turned south onto the 6400 block of Sanders St. It then turned east onto the 4500 block of Greensboro St. and it pulled into a driveway. After an investigation officers determined the driver, Andrew Grant (03/12/1981) was intoxicated and he was arrested. During an impound inventory of his vehicle, officers found marijuana in the driver area of his car. He was additionally charged with evading arrest, third degree felony, and possession of marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor.

A 50 year old female victim called Corpus Christi Police after she was threatened by a man with a gun at a convenience store located at 2214 Leopard St. The victim told officers she went into the store and while inside a man she knew told her “I`m going to shoot your brother” and then stated “I`m going to shoot you too.” The female said she did not reply to the threats and left the store. As she was leaving in her car, she observed the male parked near the store and as she was driving away she heard a gunshot. Officers found Clifton Moore (10/15/1963) in a vehicle matching the description of the suspects parked in front of a bar at 1023 Josephine St. Officers contacted the suspect, and found a .40 caliber handgun in the suspects’ car, and back at the store, they located a shell casing in the parking lot. Officers arrested the suspect and charged him with aggravated assault, a second degree felony.

Offense: Driving While Intoxicated with Child Passenger (State Jail Felony)

Corpus Christi Police Officers responded to a two vehicle crash at Six Points. The crash investigation revealed that a 38 year old male was driving his 2014 Volkswagen Jetta and was stopped at a red light on S. Staples St. Brittany Zapata (09/20/1991) was driving her 1997 Toyota Camry Sedan and struck the Volkswagen from behind. After an investigation, officers determined the female was intoxicated and she was arrested. As officers were collecting information regarding the crash, they identified another 23 year old female that was a passenger in the car driven by Ms. Zapata. Also in the car was a 3 year old boy and officers learned his mother had been dropped off at a doctor`s appointment and the two females were driving around with her son while they waited for her. There were no injuries suffered by anyone in this crash, however, Ms. Zapata was charged with driving while intoxicated with a child passenger, a state jail felony. The 3 year old child was delivered back to his mother.
