Offense: Driving While Intoxicated             (PC 49.04       Class B Misdemeanor)
Case Number: 1409250009
A 30 year old female witness called Corpus Christi Police Officers about a friend of hers being involved in a motorcycle crash while riding with a man she had met at a bar. The witness said that she and her 28 year old female friend were at a bar located at 6410 Weber Rd. when the friend said she was going “on a bike ride with some dude.” Neither female knew the man driving the motorcycle, however, the female friend wound up going on two separate rides with him. The friend got concerned when the motorcycle driver returned without her friend after a second ride. The driver told the friend that they had a crash and he gave her directions as to where her friend could get picked up.  The friend went and found the female in the 3800 block of Saratoga Blvd, and picked her up and took her back to the bar and called police. The motorcycle driver, Irie Dalton Williams (08/29/1991), which had left the bar walking was located nearby and was determined to be intoxicated and he was arrested.  The crash investigation revealed that the motorcycle driver was attempting to make a turn to return to the bar when he lost control after striking the curb and the bike fell over onto the both of them.  The female was transported to Spohn South Hospital by CCFD EMS for her injuries, and the driver of the motorcycle was treated for injuries he received in the crash, then booked at the City Detention Center on charges of driving while intoxicated, a Class B misdemeanor and driving with a suspended driver’s license a Class C misdemeanor.  Corpus Christi Police Traffic Investigators will be looking into any additional charges that may be filed against the suspect regarding the crash, and leaving the scene of a crash.
