A 26 year old female called Corpus Christi Police from a convenience store on North Beach and said that she was giving a ride to a male friend of a friend from the downtown area across the bridge. She said when they arrived at the store she went inside to buy something and when she returned her 2007 Ford Focus was gone. She said she went inside and had left the keys in the ignition with the vehicle running and the male inside. The suspect is described as a white male with two triangle tattoos on his face and he was last seen wearing a red shirt and black shorts. The female was given a ride home by officers. A little while later, officers found her car parked and abandoned in front of an apartment complex in the 3000 block of Antelope St. Officers are still looking for the male who took the car for a joy ride.

A 32 year old female clerk called Corpus Christi Police after the store discovered it took in a counterfeit $20 dollar bill sometime on Saturday. Officers went to the business located at 3002 McKinzie Rd. and collected the fake money. The store employee is looking at camera surveillance footage to try and determine which customers passed the fake bill.

Offense: Driving While Intoxicated (PC 49.04 Class A Misdemeanor)

Corpus Christi Police responded to a man passed out in the drive thru lane of a restaurant located at 1121 Waldron Road. Store employees called police and upon their arrival they found John Bishop (07/08/1958) asleep in his 2012 Volkswagen Jetta and after investigating, determined he was intoxicated. The suspect was alone in the car, in the driver’s seat with the engine running. He was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, a Class A misdemeanor, and his VW was impounded.

A 56 year old female on her way to church called Corpus Christi Police after she found 9 sheets of counterfeit money in the middle of the intersection of Weber Rd. and Kingston Dr. Officers collected the sheets that had copies of fake $5, $10 and $20 dollar bills on them. Officers are investigating who dropped the sheets of fake money and at this time have not made any arrests in this case.

Offense: Driving While Intoxicated with Child (PC 49.045 State Jail Felony)

A Corpus Christi Police Officer on patrol in the 2900 block of Ayers St. observed two small passenger cars traveling next to each going north on Ayers St. at a high rate of speed. The Chevrolet Cobalt and the Acura CL then stopped at a traffic light and when the light turned green the two vehicles again accelerated rapidly traveling side by side. The officer was able to catch up to the Chevrolet as it turned onto 15th St. Another officer stopped the Acura as it turned down 17th St. The driver of the Acura, Filimon Sotelo-Vasquez (11/23/1986), was arrested for racing on a highway, a Class B misdemeanor. After an investigation, the driver of the Chevrolet, Jose Caballero (03/22/1992), was found to be intoxicated. In his car were three other adult passengers. One of the three was a female sitting in the back seat holding a ten month old baby boy in her arms. They said that the two males racing each other were cousins. Mr. Caballero was also arrested for racing on a highway, and for driving while intoxicated with a child passenger in his car, a state jail felony. Both the Acura and the Chevrolet were impounded.

Corpus Christi Police responded to the area of Stillman Ave. and Minton St. after a 32 year old women said she had seen a female in the roadway outside of a white Lincoln Towncar removing all her clothing until she was fully nude. She said that she saw the female get back in the car and drive away with a small child in the front seat. Officers located the car, a couple blocks away in the 1500 block of Kennedy St. and found the female driver to be completely nude sitting in the driver seat with her 3 year old child on her lap. Officers had her get dressed and then had her exit the vehicle. The driver was identified as Lyndsey Baker (09/26/1986) and after an investigation it was determined that she was intoxicated. She was arrested for driving while intoxicated with a child passenger, s state jail felony, and she was additionally charged with an outstanding arrest warrant for resisting arrest. The little boy was delivered to his father, and the Lincoln was impounded.
