Corpus Christi Police responded to a bomb threat at the state parole office located at 5233 Interstate Highway 37. When officers arrived a female who works in the office told police that she answered the phone and a female caller stated she had exited the building and had overheard two males say there was a bomb in the building. The female caller would not give any more information. The number which the female suspect called from returned to a payphone at 5175 Interstate Highway 37, the Exxon gas station, which is located nearby. The office building was evacuated for a short time while officers searched for any suspicious items. Workers were allowed to return a short time later.

Corpus Christi Police responded to a vehicle on fire in front of a home located in the 400 block of Carleta St. Officers were able to put out the fire in the bed of the 2001 Ford F150 truck. While investigating the source of the fire officers located a glass bottle with a rag inside of it. The bottle had a small amount of liquid left in it. Officers also found that both of the rear tires to the truck had been flattened. The Corpus Christi Police Bomb Squad arrived and diffused the Molotov cocktail and made the scene safe. The 52 year old owner of the truck did tell officers who he thought had set the fire. Officers are still investigating this case, and no arrests have been made.

An AEP employee called Corpus Christi Police after he discovered suspects had made entry onto the AEP substation property and removed copper wires. An investigation revealed that the suspects cut the fence and a lock on the northeast end of the property to make entry. Once on the property the suspects cut several grounds to transformers and removed the copper wire. AEP estimated over thirty grounds were cut which would be about 150 pounds of copper wire that was stolen. The AEP employee told investigators that they don’t regularly check the property and had no idea when the actual theft had occurred.
