Patrol Report 10/24/2014

The Corpus Christi Police Department generated 216 reports for formal criminal complaints from midnight October 23 to 7:00 a.m. on October 24, 2014. These are samples of the criminal complaints filed by the Corpus Christi Police for that time period.

 

“Bravo” District

Location: 5800 Bonner Drive
Offense: Aggravated Assault
(PC 22.02       Second Degree Felony)

Corpus Christi Police responded to a dispute between two neighbors in the 5800 block of Bonner Dr.  A 46 year old male victim told officers that he was drinking with his neighbor in the front yard of his neighbors home when he threw a beer bottle and it broke in his neighbor’s driveway. The neighbor, Trevor Hicks (02/07/1972), told the victim to clean up the glass and when the victim refused the two began to fight. Once the fight ended, the victim went to get his dog that was running loose so he could leave. The neighbor went inside his home and retrieved a machete. The neighbor threatened the victim by placing the tip against his chest, and he hit him in the back of his legs with the blade. The suspect with the machete was arrested, and charged with aggravated assault, a second degree felony. The victim was treated at the scene by CCFD EMS but refused to be taken to the hospital for minor injuries to the back of his legs.

Corpus Christi Police responded to 4622 Everhart Rd. after bank employees called about a male suspect trying to cash a forged check in the lobby. Officers arrived at the bank and took Ryan Scott Taylor (07/06/1989) into custody after a bank teller observed the male trying to cash a check on a closed business account. An inventory of the suspects’ 1995 Chevrolet truck which was parked at a nearby business revealed numerous driver’s license, identification cards, and several checks belonging to different people. He was charged with forgery, a state jail felony, and fraud, a third degree felony. Officers are still investigating whether any other charges will be filed against the suspect for the other items he had in his truck.

A 40 year old male called Corpus Christi Police after he found his vehicle up on blocks and all four tires and rims missing. The victim told officers someone stole the tires and customized rims off of his 2010 Chevrolet Tahoe while it was parked in his driveway beside his residence. The victim estimated the property taken was valued at over $1300.

Corpus Christi Police responded to a call from a 35 year old male victim who told officers he had just chased off two suspects who were trying to steal tires and rims off of his 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe that was parked in front of his home. The suspects had placed landscape blocks under the victims SUV and all four wheels were missing.  The suspects quickly got back into their truck and drove away.  After getting a description of the suspects truck, other officers responding to the call saw the 2001 Ford F150 traveling in the 3800 block of Wickersham Dr. Officers were able to stop the truck and found the driver, Gabriel Gonzalez (01/10/1988), and his passenger Josue Garcia (07/09/1996) inside and arrested both of them for theft.  The victim was able to get his property back, and officers found evidence of other thefts inside the truck. Officers will be looking into several other similar cases they are investigating to see if any further charges will be filed against either suspect.
