Corpus Christi Police responded to a crash in the 5600 block of Ocean Drive and found a 2007 Volkswagen Golf passenger car had struck a light pole in the center median. The collision caused the light pole to fall over and become wedged underneath the vehicle. The light pole was also partially in the street blocking traffic. After an investigation it was determined that the driver, Simon Aubin (02/21/1990) was intoxicated and he was arrested. No one was in the car with the driver, and no other vehicles were involved in the crash. AEP responded to the scene to cut power to the pole and assess the damage. Damage to the light pole was estimated to be about $1000.

A 34 year old business owner called Corpus Christi Police after he went inside and found a hole in the interior wall of the restaurant and the cash register missing. The suspect gained entry into the restaurant by using a hammer to tunnel through the wall after breaking two exterior windows. The burglary is believed to have occurred at about 3 AM on 10/26/2014. The owner estimated damage to the windows and wall to be at about $3000.00. Officers are still investigating this case, and no arrests have been made.

A 30 year old male victim called Corpus Christi Police after he was stabbed by his girlfriend over an argument about buying a gun. Officers responded to a trailer park located at 5902 Ayers St. and found the male with a stab wound to the back of his head. The victim said he got into an argument with Bridget Campbell (08/27/1987) and while they were arguing she grabbed a knife from the kitchen sink and stabbed him in the back of the head. She was upset that another male had come over to sell her boyfriend a gun. When he left, she got mad about him having a gun, and wasting money to buy it. The female was arrested for aggravated assault, a first degree felony. The male refused to be taken to the hospital.

Offense: Endangering A Child

Corpus Christi Police responded to a house in the 1500 block of Sixth St. for the second time in less than an hour and a half. The first time they were there, they issued Johnathen Pena (10/04/1992) a criminal trespass warning at about 1:50 PM. The warning instructed the male not to return to the home, and if he did he would be arrested. When they arrived back at the home just before 3 PM, the male was seen by officers in the home where he had apparently climbed through a back window. Officers entered the home and attempted to arrest the male, however he put his 2 year old daughter between himself and the officers and tried to use her as a shield to keep the officers back. Officers were able to make the arrest during which the suspect resisted arrest. Several officers arrived to assist, and he was taken into custody without injury to himself, or to the child. The male was charged with endangering a child, a state jail felony, resisting arrest, a Class A misdemeanor, and criminal trespass, a Class B misdemeanor.

A 45 year old female called Corpus Christ Police after she and her husband were involved in a disturbance just outside the front door in the hallway of their apartment that is located in the 1400 block of Maryland St. The female stated her husband, Michael Zopp (12/08/1982), had started an argument with her and he punched her with a closed fist in the mouth. The female said he then grabbed two of her pet cats by the throat and carried them around behind the apartment. When she went to the rear of the apartment to see what he was doing she found one of her cat`s dead and she was unable to locate the other one. When the male walked next door to a neighbor`s apartment the female called the police. Officers arrived and arrested the male for assaulting his wife, a Class A misdemeanor and for killing one of the cats, a state jail felony.
