Patrol Report 11/04/2014

The Corpus Christi Police Department generated 212 reports for formal criminal complaints from midnight November 3 to 7:00 a.m. on November 4, 2014. These are samples of the criminal complaints filed by the Corpus Christi Police for that time period.

 

“Adam” District

Offense: Burglary

Corpus Christi Police responded to a burglary in progress of a vehicle at a motel located at 10446 Interstate Highway 37. Officers arrived and found Patrick Wade (05/01/1986) in the bed of a 2011 Chevrolet truck that was parked in the parking lot.

The suspect was seen by officers trying to pry open the tool box of the truck. When officers attempted to identify the suspect, he gave a false name. The 54 year old owner of the truck was located and said that nothing had been taken.

The suspect was finally positively identified and found to have a parole warrant for robbery. He was arrested for the outstanding warrant, and additionally charged with burglary of a vehicle and fail to identify, both Class A misdemeanors.

A 47 year old male called Corpus Christi Police after two men exited his home and pointed a gun at him. The man said he was returning home when he noticed a red hatch back type vehicle in his drive way. He also saw that the front door was open and he thought it might of been his step son and his friends.

When he walked up to the house two Hispanic males exited the house and one pointed a black hand gun at him. The suspects both had thin builds and goatees and one was wearing a gray hoodie and the suspect with the gun had an orange hoodie.  The two suspects then jumped into the red vehicle and fled west on Schannen St.

When officers went to investigate they found that the front door had been pried open and the home had been ransacked. The victim didn’t notice any items missing and believes he scared them off before they were able to take anything. Damage to the door was estimated to be about $300.  Officers are still investigating this case, and have not made any arrests.

A 53 year old store owner called Corpus Christi Police after a male tried to pass a counterfeit twenty dollar bill at his store located at 2002 S. Staples St.

The man said that a Hispanic male came into the store and attempted to buy cigarettes with the fake money. When the owner tested the bill with a marker it tested positive for being counterfeit. When the suspect was told he could not buy anything from his store, he asked for the bill back.  The owner refused to give it back and called the police and the suspect left the store.

The suspect is described as being in his mid-forties, about 5’10”, 175 pounds with brown hair and eyes.   Officers checked the area for the suspect, but he was not located.
