Patrol Report 11/05/2014

The Corpus Christi Police Department generated 195 reports for formal criminal complaints from midnight November 4 to 7:00 a.m. on November 5, 2014. These are samples of the criminal complaints filed by the Corpus Christi Police for that time period.

Offense: Burglary

Corpus Christi Police responded to the Little Miss Kickball Field located at 4200 Mc Ardle Rd. after five vehicles there were found to have been broken into.

All five victims reported that windows on their cars had been smashed out and numerous purses and other property stolen from inside the vehicles while they were parked there.

Officers are still investigating this case, and no suspects have been arrested.

Offense: Reckless Driving

A Corpus Christi Police Officer on patrol used the radar in his unit to check the speed of a 2013 Ford F150 truck going south on Kostoryz Rd. near Holly Rd. and found the truck was traveling at 88 mph in a 35 mph zone.

The truck was stopped and the officer found the driver to have two outstanding warrants out for his arrest.  Also in the truck were two males, ages 14 and 15.

The driver, Felix Deleon (05/15/1988), was arrested for reckless driving and it was also discovered that he had a suspended driver license, both Class B misdemeanors.  He was additionally charged with inducing curfew, for having the minors with him, a Class C misdemeanor.

The two minors were given citations for being out past curfew, and they were released to their mother.

Corpus Christi Police were dispatched to an apartment complex located in the 5400 block of Burnham Dr. after a female showed up knocking on a neighbor’s apartment armed with a gun.

The 28 year old male neighbor told officers that he was awaken by the female beating on his front door. The male said that he heard the female say that she had a gun and she began pulling the trigger of the gun while standing at the door. The male said that he was able to watch the female through the peep hole of his door while she pulled the trigger several times. The male then said he saw the female hand the handgun to her 4 year old daughter who was standing with her and she had her daughter pull the trigger.

Officers contacted Sharonn Rocha (05/22/1978) and her daughter who were sitting outside her apartment.  She was arrested for aggravated assault, first degree felony for pointing the gun at the neighbor, and endangering a child, a second degree felony for having the daughter in an unsafe environment.

Officers found the handgun in the bushes outside near the females’ apartment.  Child Protective Services was notified of the incident and the child was released to the sister of the suspect.

A 33 year old male victim told Corpus Christi Police that he was standing at the corner of Antelope St. and Buddy Lawrence Dr. when a black truck pulled up next to him and three Hispanic males jumped out of the truck and started assaulting him.

As the suspects were leaving in the truck, the victim said that they ran him over and then they drove through a section of chain link fence. The victim told officers that he did not know the suspects and had never seen them before. CCFD EMS arrived to treat the victim and he was transported to the hospital for several non-life threatening injuries.

At this time officers have no further suspect information other than three Hispanic males.

Offense: Unauthorized Use Of A Motor Vehicle

A Corpus Christi Police Officer on patrol observed a stolen vehicle being driven in the 2900 block of Blake St. After stopping the 2003 Ford Expedition the officer found three people inside, including the driver, Latrell Latham (02/24/1995). He was arrested without incident and charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, a state jail felony.

The other two people in the vehicle were identified and released.

The vehicle was reported stolen on October 31, from the Holiday Inn Marina Hotel located at 707 N. Shoreline Boulevard by a suspect who possibly was armed with a gun. Corpus Christi Police Auto Theft Detectives will be looking into this case to see if any further charges will be filed against the suspect regarding this case.

A 32 year old female called Corpus Christi Police and said that while she was getting into her vehicle in front of a business located at 2308 Horne Rd. a male suspect approached her and demanded her purse.  The male threatened the female by raising his fist while yelling at her to give him the purse.  When the victim refused, the male pushed her to the ground, and stole the purse.

A witness followed the suspect to the area near the Home Depot Store located on S. Port Ave.  Responding officers found the suspect hiding behind the store on and arrested him.

Ernest Ray Price (10/09/1971) was arrested for robbery, a second degree felony.  The female victims’ purse was returned to her and she was not seriously injured.

Corpus Christi Police responded to a call of a burglary after two male suspects were seen on surveillance video attempting to gain entry through the back door of 425 S Carancahua St.

Officers arrived and found that a shed had the door forced open and a window on the side of the building had been forced open.

Officers entered the building and found two suspects, Caleb Nowak (11/23/1992) and Landon Gass (06/21/1993), inside and they were both arrested for burglary, a second degree felony.  No property was taken from the building.
