Corpus Christi Police responded to an assault at Spohn South Hospital located at 5950 Saratoga Blvd. after a man bit a security guard.
The 56 year old male hospital security guard was in the neonatal unit of the hospital after he received a call about a man hitting his girlfriend in one of the rooms. The girlfriend, a 25 year old female, told officers she was in the hospital because she was recovering from having a baby. She said she left the room to go to the nursery and when she returned to her room, her boyfriend, was there and he started accusing her of sleeping with hospital staff members. He then started punching her in the back of the head causing her to scream out for help.
Hospital staff and two security guards arrived and they told the male that he had to leave. The boyfriend refused to leave the room and then became aggressive with security. During a struggle with security the male bit on of the security guards on the upper leg breaking the skin.
Corpus Christi Police arrived and took Matthew Johnson (12/29/1985) into custody. He was arrested for assaulting his girlfriend, a Class A misdemeanor, and for biting the security guard, a third degree felony. The security guard received treatment for his injury in the emergency room of the hospital.

A 41 year old male victim called Corpus Christi Police after he was hit in his face by his ex-wife for text messages she found on his phone.
The victim said that he and his ex-wife had been living together for the last couple months in an apartment in the 2900 block of Airline Rd. They were both there when she became angry about a text on his phone. The male said he went into the bathroom and stayed there for a while to let her calm down. When he finally opened the door she was standing there and struck him in the face three times.
Sharla Brooks (10/21/1972) was arrested for assault, a Class A misdemeanor. The victim refused medical treatment.

A 27 year old female victim called Corpus Christi Police after she was assaulted by her brother after an argument over the treatment of his dog.
The victim told officers she made comments about her brother’s dog while both were at their home in the 4400 block of Ramsey St. Her brother became upset by her comments and started cursing at her and making threats toward her.
During the disturbance, the male hit her in the throat. While officers were at the home they heard the male tell the victim that he intended to carry out these threats if something happened to his dog.
Due to the fact that the male assaulted his sister and continued to make threats to cause bodily harm to her, Sean Beasley (10/26/1993), was arrested for assault, a Class A misdemeanor.

Corpus Christi Police responded to a shooting at an apartment in the 1400 block of Sulaine Place. A 38 year old male victim told officers that he was inside an apartment with a 34 year old female friend when they heard a loud bang and then he felt something hot on his back.
Officers noticed that there was fresh graffiti on the inside wall of the apartment complex and a bullet hole that went through the front door. The female said that they were in her apartment and were about to watch a movie, when they both heard a loud bang and her friend was shot. She did not know why anyone would shoot at her apartment.
The male was transported to Spohn MMC with non-life threatening injuries. Officers are still investigating this case and no arrests have been made.
