The Corpus Christi Police Bomb Squad responded to 4001 Wildcat Drive, Calallen High School, after an officer working off duty at the school was informed of two suspicious bottles near the dumpsters. The schools dumpsters are located at the north end of the campus near the football field.
Upon investigation it was determined that the bottles were seen by a school employee near the building close to a bus pick up point. The school employee assumed it was trash, and the bottles were moved to the dumpsters. Another person then contacted the off duty officer about seeing the bottles near the dumpster.
The off duty officer went over to investigate and he observed two plastic bottles that contained a discolored liquid with a white fizz on top and both appeared to be under pressure. A safety perimeter was set up around the bottles and a sweep of the school was made to ensure there were no additional bottles around the campus.
The bomb squad officers arrived on scene and disposed of the bottles. No one was injured and at this time it is unknown who originally put the bottles out.
No criminal charges are expected to be filed in this case.

Corpus Christi Police responded to a call about four to five shots being fired from a vehicle in the 1000 block of Lum Ave.
Officers arrived and found one bullet hole in an outside window of a home and inside the home it appears as through the bullet traveled through a bathroom door coming to rest inside a cabinet in the bathroom. Officers recovered the bullet from the bathroom cabinet and also found a spent .45 caliber shell casing in the street.
Three people were inside the home at the time of the shooting, however, there were no injuries.
Witnesses told officers that they saw the shots being fired from a dark colored, late model Dodge Ram truck.
Officers are still investigating this case and no arrests have been made.

A 19 year old female called Corpus Christi Police after she was accidently shot in the foot by a friend at a home in the 3200 block of White Tail Dr.
Upon investigation it was determined that a 22 year old male, who is staying at his brothers home while he is out of town, brought two females over, and he was showing them one of his brothers shotguns. Not realizing the shotgun was loaded, he pulled the trigger and a round struck the female’s right foot.
The female was transported by CCFD EMS to Christus Spohn Memorial Hospital for treatment of her injuries.
No criminal charges are expected to be filed in this case.

A 53 year old male called Corpus Christi Police after a female took his cane and hit him in the head several times with it.
The victim was able to give a description of the female suspect, and the responding officer recognized the description as someone who he had dealt with in the past.
After the victim was transported by CCFD EMS to Spohn MMC for treatment, the officer drove to the area of Furman Ave. and Tancahua St. to look for the suspect.
The officer found Michelle Cabriales (07/23/1986) who was wearing a jacket that had blood on the outside of it. The officer arrested the female for the aggravated assault and she was additionally charged with failure to identify when she refused to give information to the officer.
During her trip to the City Dentation Center, the female attempted to kick out the window to the police car, and then physically resisted when officers tried to remove her from the police car. For this, she was also charged with resisting transport, a Class A misdemeanor.
