Patrol Report 12/11/2014

The Corpus Christi Police Department generated 204 reports for formal criminal complaints from midnight December 10 to 7:00 a.m. on December 11, 2014. These are samples of the criminal complaints filed by the Corpus Christi Police for that time period.

 

“Adam” District

Location: 200 State Highway 358 West
Offense: Fatality Crash

Corpus Christi Police are investigating a two car crash that killed one man on State Highway 358 West over Bear Lane.

The crash investigation revealed that a 2004 Toyota Camry four door was being driven by a 32 year old man going the wrong direction on the freeway.  Witnesses told officers the Toyota was traveling east in the west bound lanes of the freeway.  The Toyota Camry struck a 2015 Ford Fiesta four door being operated by a 68 year old man and he was killed as a result of this crash.  No other people were in either vehicle.

The 32 year old male showed signs of intoxication, and officers have started a criminal investigation.  He  was transported to Spohn MMC by CCFD EMS for serious leg injuries.

The westbound lanes of State Highway 358 at Bear Lane were closed for a little over four hours while police completed the investigation, and the Texas Department of Transportation inspected the roadway.

A 73 year old female was arrested by Corpus Christi Police after she hit her 71 year old husband in the face with an object after he refused to give water to the family dogs.

The male victim, who had a cut above his right eye, told officers that his wife wanted him to water the dogs and when he refused she became irate and attempted to give the dogs water herself.

While she was walking outside, she tripped and fell and this got her more upset with him, and she grabbed an unknown object and struck him with it.  The victim did not know what he was hit with, and officers found the living room in disarray with objects broken and knocked over everywhere.

CCFD EMS responded and treated both the male and the female for minor injuries.

Mary Sue Wright (03/01/1941) was arrested for aggravated assault, a first degree felony.

 

“Charlie” District

Offense: Aggravated Robbery

A 76 year old man called Corpus Christi Police after he was robbed by four suspects in his home in the 6000 block of McAlpin Drive.

The male stated that two female acquaintances came to his home and began visiting with them.   A short time later two males entered the home through the unsecured front door wearing bandanas over the lower part of their faces and beanies over their heads.

Both males began demanding money from the man, while going through his pants pockets. The suspects pushed the man into the bathroom and one of the males held him while the other removed jewelry he had on.

The victim also observed the females going through his personal belonging in the home looking for items. The victim did not know the females by name, and could not describe the two males involved.

The victim said that the two rings stolen from him were valued at $2,500 and that his wallet was also taken.

Witnesses told police that they saw a beige four door vehicle leaving the scene at a high rate of speed.  The victim declined medical attention, saying that he was not injured during the assault.

Officers are still investigating this case and no arrests have been made.

A 43 year old male victim walked into Spohn MMC emergency room with a gunshot wound to his abdomen.

The victim told Corpus Christi Police that he was walking near Hillcrest Park when he heard gunshots. He didn`t realize that he had been struck until he looked down and saw blood on his shirt.

A friend drove the victim to the hospital and dropped him off. Officers checked the area of the park but did not locate a crime scene.

Officer are still investigating this case, and no arrest have been made.

The victims wounds are not life threatening.
