Patrol Report 12/24/2014

The Corpus Christi Police Department generated 203 reports for formal criminal complaints from midnight December 23 to 7:00 a.m. on December 24, 2014. These are samples of the criminal complaints filed by the Corpus Christi Police for that time period.

Offense: Assault

Case Number: 1412230150
Corpus Christi Police responded to a fight between two females inside the dressing room of a club located at 5401 Leopard Street.

When officers arrived they were told by club employees that, Brittany Myers (12/02/1992), had run into the club and began yelling at a dancer while she was performing on the stage.  The female suspect grabbed the dancer and drug her off the stage.  When the dancer tried to run away from the suspect, she pursued her into the dressing room where she continued to assault her.

The 18 year old female dancer was struck several times in the face, but declined medical treatment. The victim told officers that the female suspect was upset with her because she had taken her identification card to work with her.

Officers arrested the suspect for assault, a Class A misdemeanor.

Offense: Driving While Intoxicated

Corpus Christi Police responded to a two car crash in the 800 block of Ennis Joslin Road, and found one of the drivers to be intoxicated.

The crash investigation revealed that, Veronica Hemmert (08/17/1989), was attempting to turn the 2013 BMW four door car she was driving from Ennis Joslin Road onto Sandpiper Drive.  A 2003 Jeep Cherokee being driven by a 19 year old female was traveling in the same direction south on Ennis Joslin Rd. in the inside lane and was struck by the suspect when she attempted to turn from the outside lane.

After an investigation officers found the driver of the BMW was intoxicated and she was arrested.

No one was injured in the crash, including the 23 year old male passenger also in the BMW.

Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.   The female driver of the BMW also could be issued traffic citations for turning improperly.

The driver of the Cherokee was not cited for any violations.

Offense: Hit and Run Investigation

Corpus Christi Police responded to a vehicle rolled over and resting on its top in front of 19 Camden Palace.

Officers arrived and found the 2002 Dodge Dakota truck, which had left the roadway and struck the curb causing it to roll over, upside down but no driver around.

During the crash investigation it was determined that the truck was owned by a female that lived at the home the truck had crashed in front of.

The female owner of the truck told officers her 21 year old son had been driving and had crashed the truck, but she refused to let him come outside and speak to officers.

The truck was impounded and the driver could be charged with leaving the scene of a crash.
