Corpus Christi Police investigating a crash at the intersection of Airline Road and Gollihar Road found one of the drivers to be intoxicated with her 4 year old daughter in the vehicle with her.

The crash investigation revealed that Jennifer Iruegas (12/07/1984) was driving her 2003 Nissan Murano and was traveling north in the 900 block of Airline Road when a 2004 Kia Soul driven by a 47 year old female turned in front of her onto the 5800 block of Gollihar Road.  Both vehicles collided in the intersection and luckily no one in either vehicle was injured.

Officers determined that the female driving the Nissan was intoxicated, and they also found her 4 year old daughter unsecured in the back seat of her Nissan.

The suspect was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated with a child passenger.   Because her daughter is younger than 15 years of age, she was charged with a felony crime.

A driver who committed a hit and run with another vehicle on Leopard Street was found by Corpus Christi Police to be intoxicated driving on the Crosstown Freeway.

Officers originally responded to a crash in the 5500 block of Leopard Street after a 2007 Dodge Charger being driven by David Gonzalez (06/24/1979) struck a 2014 BMW sedan from behind.  The driver of the Dodge fled the scene, but was located by officers driving on the Crosstown Freeway access road near Horne Road.

Officers were able to stop the vehicle and after an investigation determined that the driver was intoxicated.

The suspect was arrested for driving while intoxicated and accident involving damage to a vehicle, both Class B misdemeanors.

The 37 year old male driver of the BMW was not injured in the crash.
