The Corpus Christi Police Department generated 190 reports for formal criminal complaints from midnight January 26 to 7:00 a.m. on January 27, 2015. These are samples of the criminal complaints filed by the Corpus Christi Police for that time period.

 

“Bravo” District

A 28 year old male construction worker called Corpus Christi Police after his tools were stolen while he way laying tile in a house under construction.

The male victim told officers that all his work tools were in the garage and he was in the bathroom using a hand tool. He said he came out to cut some tile and someone had taken his saw and several of his drills.  He said the garage door was open while he was working inside.  The victim estimated the value of the property to be $1300.

Officers are still investigating this case, and no arrests have been made.

A store clerk called Corpus Christi Police after a customer passed her a counterfeit bill at a store located at 14526 South Padre Island Drive.

The Stripes store clerk told officers that a customer attempted to pay for merchandise with a counterfeit ten dollar bill. The clerk noticed that it did not look right so she checked it with a counterfeit detection pen and it revealed that it was in fact fake.

The 20 year old customer waited for police to arrive and he told them that he thinks that he was given the bill as change from a barber shop a couple of days ago. Officers recovered the fake bill as evidence and the customer was identified and released.

This case is still under investigation, and no arrests have been made.

A shoplifting call was upgraded to a robbery after two male suspects assaulted a store employee to help their female friend escape.

A 50 year old store employee called Corpus Christi Police to the Home Depot Store located at 4038 S. Port Avenue.  He told officers that he observed two males and a female come into the store together and split up.  The employee was watching the female put several items from the store into her purse and then watched as she walked out without paying.

When he confronted her in the parking lot, he was attempting to escort her back to the store, when the two males she had walked into the store with came up to him and began yelling to let her go.

One of the males hit the employee in the throat with his fist and forced him to let her go.  All three suspects got into a gray Toyota Tacoma truck and left toward Port Avenue.

The store employee was able to hold onto the females purse and inside it officers found over $130 worth of merchandise.  They were also able to find other identifying information that may lead them to the female suspect.

This case is still under investigation, and at this time none of the suspects have been located.
