Patrol Report 01/29/2015

The Corpus Christi Police Department generated 188 reports for formal criminal complaints from midnight January 28 to 7:00 a.m. on January 29, 2015. These are samples of the criminal complaints filed by the Corpus Christi Police for that time period.

 

 “Bravo” District

Location: 9300 South Padre Island Drive
Offense: Outstanding Arrest Warrants
Case Number: 1501290009
Corpus Christi Police responded to an apartment complex located at 9350 S. Padre Island Drive for two suspicious males in the parking lot.

Officers arrived on the property and observed two males under the hood of a 2003 Buick Regal as if it was broke down and they were working on it. Officers identified one of the males as a wanted person with an outstanding warrant for his arrest.

Officers placed Johnny Barrera (08/08/1990) under arrest for the outstanding burglary warrant that has a $25,000 bond. He was additionally charged with failure to identify, a Class A misdemeanor when he gave them a false name.

The other 24 year old male who owned the Buick was released by officers and he drove off in the car that did not appear to have any mechanical issues.

Offense: Aggravated Assault

Corpus Christi Police responded to a call about a fight inside an apartment located at 2437 Sacky Drive.

When they arrived two witnesses and a 24 year old male victim told officers that they were cooking fajitas with a neighbor when they started “playing around”. The three said that they all had been drinking and what started out as playful fighting became more aggressive.

The neighbor started swinging his fist at everybody and eventually picked up a knife. After threatening the male victim with the knife, the suspect fell down, because he was so intoxicated. This caused minor cuts to his face and forehead.

Officers located the neighbor, Herman Ray Mumford (11/05/1974) , in the apartment next door and arrested him for aggravated assault, for making threats to the victim while armed with a knife. He was also found to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest for parole violation.

Offense: Burglary

Corpus Christi Police responded to a call about suspicious activity at 3022 Leopard Street, The Boat & Net.   A male wearing a bandanna, a black shirt and blue jeans was observed tampering with the window of the business.

When officers arrived they found the front window of the business had been removed and when they looked inside they saw a man asleep on some stacked boxes. Officers made contact with an employee by phone who was able to give them the door code to make entry into the business.

Officers arrested Alcario Barios (08/22/1968) who said he only broke in to eat some tartar sauce.  The suspect was charged him with burglary to a business, a state jail felony.

Offense: Indecent Exposure

A Corpus Christi Police Officer on patrol in the 700 block of E. Port Avenue observed a 2002 Hyundai sedan traveling north on Port Avenue. The officer observed the vehicle commit a traffic violation and stopped the car.

When the officer contacted the driver, Jose Villalpando (01/08/1971), he happen to notice that he was completely nude.

The driver was allowed to dress himself and he was arrested for indecent exposure and transported to the city detention center.  His vehicle was impounded.
