Case Number: 1502080136
Corpus Christi Police were dispatched to 601 S. Port Avenue, The Stripes, after the clerk called in about a small child walking into the store alone.
Once police arrived, an officer cared for the 2 year old child while other officers began knocking on doors in the area in an attempt to locate any family members.
One of the officers found an open door to an apartment located in the 2800 block of Marguerite Street. When he yelled inside the open door and got no answer he entered the apartment and found a man asleep on the couch. Beside the sleeping man were several pills and synthetic marijuana packages.
Upon investigation, it was determined that the sleeping man was the child’s uncle. The man was supposed to be watching the child but had passed out on the couch and his nephew walked out the open front door.
Officers were also able to recover several more pills, synthetic marijuana packages and electronic scales from another room in the apartment.
